Which culinary school do you think is the best?

Wednesday, March 30th, 2011
wondermom asked:

I am thinking about going to culinary school. I have been looking at Le Cordon Bleu in Las Vegas, Nevada and at Culinary Institute of America in St. Helena, California.

Le Cordon Bleu is 15 months and of course cheaper but a great location. CIA is 22 months and much more expensive but is a nicer looking school and actual college campus.

I’ve heard people say it doesn’t really matter that employers are more interested in work experience than eduation. What do you think?
P.S. I have no experience other than cooking for family and friends and small gatherings.

Culinary professionals, what is the best way to get your degree in the culinary arts?

Wednesday, March 16th, 2011
fat asked:

I’m considering to be a chef (and I’m still in high school) and I want to know what’s the most practical/money-saving way to get into the industry. Do you think majoring in business in college and then going to culinary school will benefit me? Or will I end up paying more money than I need to? In other words, how did you become a chef and are there any decisions that benefited you or you regretted?
