Open Question: how can i have my confidence back and focus on my life after losing my ex and my life?

Hi nice to meet you and i want to thank you on reading this when ever you get a chance. Well umm you see in my senior year in high scool my friend took me and his mom gave me a job cause my mom move back to norfolk and i wanted to stay out va beach to finish school so that was my choice. Every thing was going great but for no reason cause i thought about all this i made and said thinigs i should have never done so his mom threw me out so i had to finish school at my other friend house. Now during the school year i meet this girl who i really like we got to know each other and we started dating after a while, we told each other everything when things went wrong we always supported each other. So after the summer when she was getting ready to go back to school we told each other that we was going to not be lazy and get our life together cause i move back in with my mom, but during September, October, i never did it cause i was always waiting for her to come home so i can talk to her. Late October we both made a agreement that we was going to take a break from each other to focus on life and i was ok with that but something in me started to get all emotional for no reason putting sad things on facebook everyday for no reason and she got upset and stress cause she wants no distraction because se want to focus only on her and i was ok with that. So i said things i wish i could take back when i was texting her and ever since then we havent been the same when i talk to her and since that day i never been the same im always thinking about each day. People see potential in me because i hear it alot and i see it too but i dont know how to bring that out cause my goal i want for myself is to find a job, save up. go back to school maybe tcc for culinary and then go to a culinary art school to become a chief but the main thing i want is to get the only girl i love back and its hard getting her and the bad things out of my head.

Resolved Question: I’m a meat-eater trying to go vegetarian and I need some help and advice…?

I want to go vegetarian for the sake of my health and for ethical reasons. I’ve given up beef and pork without trouble but I still eat poultry and seafood. I find these two particularly hard to give up because I’ve always liked them a lot more than I did beef or pork (which is why it wasn’t a big deal to stop eating it) Do you have any tips on how to wean myself off poultry and seafood?
Any advice, tips and/or encouragement is welcome since, my parents are somewhat split on the issue. My mom thinks it’s great and my dad thinks I’m just “listening to what the white folks are telling me”.
Also any cookbook recommendations are welcome. I’m in culinary school so I welcome any starter recipes.

I just finished up classes in culinary school for the pastry program. I know have to do an internship and i got an email back from one of the bakeries i messaged saying she got my resume and would like to do an interview. I am 20 years old and have had one job (4 years) as customer service. Didn’t need an interview. So i have no idea what to say, bring, or wear for this interview. She does special cakes, wedding cakes, and desserts.

Culinary crossroads: Afghan cuisine blends its neighbours' flavours but has a charm of its own
Often, the best meals take us completely by surprise. It was 2009 and election season in Afghanistan. I was among a group of reporters weaving through the Hindu Kush to see President Hamid Karzai stump for another term. After six hours on the road, our convoy lurched to a halt outside a run-down building at the junction of two dirt tracks. "Lunch," barked one of our gruff military escorts, and …

Open Question: Becoming a chef? Is it worth it?

I am close to graduating high school and I stuck between a crossroad. I have the option of attending university to study a course I will probably hate in the future but I would like the university experience of living on campus and what not. However I have always loved cooking, I started when I was around 12 and I just loved cooking for friends and seeing the look on their faces when they taste my food. I want to cook and become a chef but I’ve heard and saw peoples life destroyed by the long hard tedious hours of cooking. Don’t get me wrong I love to cook but I would like to maintain a life outside the kitchen, hobbies, children, marriage. I guess what I’m asking is, if I do go into the culinary road, will it be so busy that I don’t have time for myself? Oh, lastly should I start in culinary school or go straight to restaurants?
Thank you very much
Wilson
